Choosing food that is grown locally means less shipping and a fresher product, and New Pi knows that quality is imperative to you and your family. Items labeled “local” throughout the store come to New Pi from a 250 mile radius, or from within the state of Iowa. “Regional” items are procured from any of Iowa’s contiguous states. By supporting local, sustainable farmers, we ensure a healthful, more natural environment. Everyone wins when we spend our shopping dollars in our own community.
 
We Support Local

New Pioneer is proud to be a community-owned business. Our 20,000+ member-owners support the local economy by shopping at the Co–op, and the Co–op in turn supports local arts and service groups. We helped found and continue to work with the local food rescue group, Table to Table. Each year we help host the community-wide celebration of local foods, local growers, and local chefs called Field to Family. Our involvement in the community extends through organizing events to donating to worthy causes.
